Bro. Michael McDaniel - Youth Pastor (Ph: 336-492-7890)

Theme verse: Matthew 4:19 "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Theme: On a mission for soul fishin'!  GET HOOKED!

Bro. Michael McDaniel began his youth ministry at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church in 2003 as Youth Pastor.  Bro. Michael, his wife, Jessie, and his two children, Joshua and Sarah have become a part of our Yadkin Valley Baptist youth program.  The youth meet every Sunday morning at 11:00AM in the New Life Bible Class for Youth Church.  Bro. Michael preaches the word of God to the youth from the King James Version of the Bible.  On the last Sunday of every month he presents a special "chalk art" message.  Before he presents the message, Bro. Michael draws an image with invisible chalk on the art board.  While preaching, he draws another picture to illustrate the message.  When the time is right, Bro. Michael uses a black light to reveal his 'invisible' drawing which also reinforces the visual image of his message.  "Kids, especially, don't forget the images", he says.

The ProTeen and youth programs are on Wednesday nights.  The youth program is for kids ages 5-7 and their curriculum is "Children's Ministries".  This group sings songs, has a Bible lesson and plays games.  The ProTeens extend to ages 8-19.  The classes are split into three different age groups, which meet each Wednesday night at 7:30 PM during the school year (September - May).  Each age group is involved in a 5-week study.  Each week features enthusiastic lessons, various memory verses, activities, competitions, discussions, games, songs, and an occasional hilarious skit!  (Not to mention the everyday antics of the teachers!).

Youth outings are planned each month.  Roller skating, skiing, bowling, trips to Carowinds, youth conference, youth revival and pizza parties are just a few of the monthly events.
There is also a "teen breakfast" once each month on Sunday in the Fellowship Hall.  The breakfast is followed by a Bible lesson.  We invite all youth to come out and join us on our many "fishin'" adventures.
